Separation

A lot of people were worried about how Daniel and I would do with this time that we are apart. We are halfway though. Yesterday is was a month since I had last seen my husband. Kissed my husband, hugged my husband or even just held his hand. One month. That can be along time! Over all I think we are doing pretty good. Tears don't come that often anymore and Nathan doesn't walk around calling for Daddy everywhere he goes. I think being paid $300 to be separated has it's perks!

While Daniel has been off at basic I've tried very hard to keep myself busy. The first few weeks I rearranged Nathan's room, I got my hair permed, Nathan got new shoes, I ordered graduation shirts for Daniel's graduation from basic. I think I have been a true Air Force wife. I have written my husband every single day, sometimes twice a day since he left. I have even sent a few picture's which I am told by him are hanging in his locker!

There are a few things that have surprised me in the past month. Like how it is really hard for me to sleep in a bed by myself anymore. How I stalk the mail man to get any piece of mail that may have Daniel's hand writing on it. Or the lack of letter's that Daniel hasn't gotten from anyone. I'm the only one that is always writing him. Which is to be expected you know since I'm the one who married him, I just thought other's would write him more often. I'm surprised also by how good I've become with money. This Momma knows how to save a few bucks!

Over all this whole separation thing is only 1/4th done. Our family wont be together for good again until April. Graduation is just a nice half way point. Daniel will have to turn around and leave again for another 57 days after he graduates basic. So we get a weekend with him that we are going to live to the fullest! Tech school will be easier. I will finally be able to pick up the phone and call him. Something I always took for granted. You ever know how much you take for granted until you can't do it anymore. I used to call Daniel everyday just to say I love you, now I get a 15 min call every weekend (sometimes). There is so much to fit into 15 mins, so many things I want to say to him but I know he has things to tell me too. So I make a list! Five top things I want to tell Daniel from the past week! We are half way done. Daniel is entering week 5 out of 8. 27 days left, 27 freaking days! I can almost feel those amazing strong arms around me once more. I. CAN"T. WAIT!! Until then I have some more little projects to keep me busy, like a new hair color!
